Our NIEC Faculty, Lalithal Krishnasamy, Lead Lecturer (NP-Campus), was featured in. The  “Our Community” series on MediaCorp Tamil News, Seithi, discusses the Tamil language festival, which aims to promote Tamil language knowledge among children from an early age. Teachers are adapting their teaching methods to cater to children’s learning needs, incorporating stories, songs, and cultural activities to make learning engaging. The focus is on nurturing children’s interest in Tamil through innovative techniques, such as acting skills and art, to facilitate language development effectively. 

In her comments, Lalithal underscores the significance of creative teaching methods in cultivating a love for the Tamil language among young learners. She highlighted that children learn words through stories and songs. Therefore, our students are trained to teach stories and songs tailored to the local context and culture, using simple language adapted for children. This approach fosters children’s interest in learning Tamil.
